if you know me, you know i have a thing for bright colors.  my closet looks like a wild rainbow of colors.  my drawers are stacked with every color, stripe and polka dot.  i have a stack of thank tops that look like they could be in a display – one of every possible color.  it’s my thing.

i also happen to love classically tailored clothing – timeless looks that never go out of style and so long as i don’t change sizes – i should be able to wear for the next 20 years if i so choose.

take your classic styles + heavy doses of bright colors = Jennifer Reale Designs.

she’s chic, modern and always appropriate.  trends don’t exist in the line – only happy, fun, girlish creations that are perfect for gals who always wear a gigantic smile.  i imagine the resort/spring collection works well while lunching al fresco, at a summer wedding, or an afternoon of shopping.

Shay & Robin dresses

buyers:  the resort/spring collection consists of 5 deliveries beginning on 12/30 and spreading through to 4/30.  there include many items that are available the entire season.  great cotton sateens, fluid jerseys and dreamy silks round out the fabric choices.  prices are better contemporary.  hangs well with Trina Turk and Nanette Lepore.  contact sales@jenniferreale.com for linesheets and lookbooks.

shoppers:  though you’ll have to wait awhile until you see these preview items in store – you can always shop online now for current collections.

ah shucks.  this little diddy of a line  called Dainty June is overrunneth with cute.  i just think it’s the epitome of adorable.  the names of the items alone are precious enough!  then you add a retro cool cuteness that i haven’t seen since grade school in the 70’s.  love it.

the vontrap jacket is a modern take on the Sound of Music and i think it inspires a little yodeling down hills, don’t you?

vontrap twins!

i’m really loving the dervish skirt and the rolf top.  elegant and sophisticated with a dash of girlish flair.  the whole outfit comes in a heathered red too.

The whole line is super!  Friends Jennifer, Jennifer & Erica launched the line earlier this year with much aplomb.  their Fall/Holiday collection is only their 2nd – but it sure looks like something much more established.  it certainly has it’s own unique look  and stands out like the cool new girl at school on store racks (i know – i saw the spring collection at a local store and went ga-ga!).

if you’re a boutique interested in the line – contact sales@daintyjune.com (not very saturated yet – would be a nice new line for your clients)

if you’re just a gal who loves fresh, adorable clothes – check out their stores page….growing steadily, i imagine!

do you like your colors bright and your patterns wild?  i do.  and that goes double for babies.  they’re such cute patoots – i like to see them dressed in bold attire that matches the attention they already get.  it’s their first opportunity (and certainly not the last) to be a baby star.

which is why i love baby star.  darling line of baby clothes, blankets, bedding, accessories, totes, etc.  and they’re free of all sorts of grody harmful chemicals and such to ensure baby not only looks good, but feels good too.  and they’re designed here in Portland!  yay!

so i wanted to pass on some scrumptious specials they are offering when you place an order for $500 or more (and lord knows you can get a lot of baby booty for $500).  Place your order soon though – it expires September 30, 2009.

  • free rock the tote!  (retails for $88 – sell it or keep it for yourself!)
  • rick rack dresses for only $12 (merchandise them over long sleeves tees for Fall)
  • buy 3 get 1 free (diamond blanket/poodle minis/diaper burbs, quick change, small burps)

contact karen@babystarfor more details, linesheets, order forms and the like.  everything is very design-savvy, modern and fun!

i discovered designer Carolina’s line back when it was Wild Blue Indigo.  i was attracted to her collection because she was always doing something a little unexpected – a little surprise in a sea of sameness.  that still holds true under her new name, Carrie Saxl (this is her cool new name, now that’s she is married).  with darling cut-outs and interesting materials – including a splash of leather – her line is sweet without sacrificing sophistication.

the collection is reasonably priced – and therefore sells very well.  her mixed metals satisfy both gold and silver wearers – and there’s always a splash of color to pop in your case.

some of my favorite pieces from her fall collection include the Arboretum silhouettes (especially the moth – it’s adorable and i love the 3D effect) w/s $42

I’m also a fan of the shadow pendants, which include dyed leather to fill the negative space behind hand-cut patterns.  w/s $40

Need something a little more sexy?  Loving the Shooting Star earrings.  hello rockstar!  w/s $44 (there’s a great necklace with the same name too)

Overall, she creates with modern lines, a heavy dose of organic shapes, and an eye for great design.  a great gal to work with – and her line is easy to sell.  you can’t go wrong!!  Contact Carolina for more info and to place an order.

ps:  here’s a sneak peek of a new collection still in the works.  They include cast pieces (silver and 14K gold) inspired by Rex Ray and Andy Goldsworthy (awesome names, by the by).

hey lady!  check out Davey Lady….lots of fun stuff.  i was immediately attracted to her handbag collection - which includes one -of-a-kind pieces (a rarity in this mass produced world).  seriously!  she only uses fabric ONCE for each bag style so that it remains unique.  i think that’s pretty darn cool.  the only bummer is that most people will then miss out on this bag:

and that’s pretty dreamy.  but from the looks of her site – she has a great eye for design and fabric – so i’m sure there are others that will catch your fancy.  the leather bags are divine as well (i especially like the shimmery clutches).

so how does a store place an order with a OOAK designer?  simple.  just contact the designer, Lisa Davey, and she will either send you jpegs of her available fabrics – or if you are in the Bay Area – she’ll pop in and show you in person (you gotta love old fashioned service like that).  her w/s prices are available upon request (retail prices range from $45 – $220).

daveylady0045

but wait!  that’s not all!  she is a one woman designing machine.  there’s belts!  jewelry!  baby clothes!  dog accessories!  oh, if only i had the time.  check out her website to see the breadth of her design prowess.
