1.  Making it Lovely

i’m in love with nicole’s blog, her house, her style and her new baby, eleanor.  she just participated in a Better Homes & Garden contest and my fingers are crossed she’ll win the $5K booty prize for her amazingly charming porch!

2.  Designing Moms

When i have extra time - i actually contribute to this sweet blog run by a group of crafty & creative moms/entrepreneurs (seriously - i feel honored to be a part of it - but these moms are way more creative than I am!).  there are lots of great how-to’s for projects, books and design ideas.

3.  Gigi’s Gone Shopping

i love this girl.  not only does she report on sales, coupon codes and the like…but she chronicles her try-ons in the dressing room to show how things really look (on a regular person - imagine that!).  she really loves J crew (and so do i).

4.  Parcel Post

in case you haven’t noticed  - i have a big ol’ crush on paper.  i love it.  even though i’m running a business online - i’m a lover of reading newspapers, magazines, books and could search around in a stationery store for hours.  i hope to open one soon - but until then - i love to read about the goings on of Urbanic  in Venice Beach.  never been to her store - but i know i’d love it!

5.  suffix abuse

this is a new discovery for me and i really enjoy the daily themes - like freebie friday and monday mosaic.  there’s a boatload of creativity here and a splash of humor and fun to go along with it.

6.  The Bright Side Project

those who know me know that i always look on the bright side.  always have, always will.  pessimism plays no role in my world.  so i was immediately attracted to the name of this sunny blog.  and what they do is even brighter!  each week they feature an up & coming designer and ask a question of their readers….the winning answer scores a prize from that designer!  pretty darn cool, eh?

7.  The Carrot Box

i found this blog eons ago and loved gazing at all the amazing rings - none of which are made out of any metal (!).  the owner is allergic - but loves (and i mean LOVES) rings - so she makes and sleuth’s out very awesome styles.  she also has a cool color finder (click on a spectrum and find all the rings in that color!) and a funny “before and after” section.

WOW.  choosing just seven was pretty hard.  i love blogs - what a wonderful way to jump inside a persons life/thoughts/visions/passions/knowledge!   i tend to read non-industry stuff - because first and foremost, i’m a woman/mom who loves design, to be entertained, and to shop.
