every store should have a sales rack - that’s a given. who doesn’t love a deal? i’m always thrilled to find that special dress that’s just a wee bit out of my price range on the sales rack. it’s like fate wanted me to have it, right?
anyway - markdowns vary - usually between 20 - 60% off is the norm. but one of the most interesting sales racks i’ve come across was at a darling shop in San Francisco called Brown Eyed Girl.
instead of hiding the sales rack in the back of the store (totally recommended, by the way) - they had it placed right at the front door. but that wasn’t the interesting part of it - they had an unusual sign that read:
”Sales Rack: Name Your Own Price! …all reasonable offers considered.”Â
now that’s fun. has anyone tried this? i never did - but i would right now. not only would it generate some buzz - but i think it’s possible to get a better price on certain items that you expected. plus - what customer wouldn’t want to name their own price?
Any other fun sales rack tips? let’s share them…
