here’s another quick-n-easy tipsy for you. this tipsy is great for online, B&M stores, designers – anyone selling anything, really!
and it’s geared towards making people feel good about spending in a recession. and it’s something we can all relate to: instant gratification.
while perusing the J. Crew website (by the way – loving their new design team), i noticed a link that reads:  Instant Gratification (under $100). i like that. i think it’s a grand idea. who doesn’t want a little IG when shopping?Â

here’s my thought: get your fancy fonts and whip up a quick sign that indicates the IG sentiment and shows what $ amount that means to you. i personally think a $20 & under makes a whole lot of sense. it’s a cash purchase, no credit needed. it barely makes a dent in a wallet or paycheck and is pretty easily justified. cluster your items in the desired price range (or plop some older items on sale to move ‘em), add sign, and voila! you have happy customers. happy customer return. good stuff all around.
if you need help making a sign – let me know! i’m not a graphic designer but i do have some skills and a lot of cool fonts!

i love jcrew – and i love instant gratification! thanks for the good idea
This is really a great idea. Thanks for sharing. I just found your blog but I will definitely be back for more…
This is very useful. Have you tried constant contact as well. I would be interested in learning your feedback. Great post. Just found your blog. Thanks.
hi there! constant contact is on my list – i’ll be reporting on it in the next week or two.
Great idea…now to find my price point!
Hi I’m loving your site! In terms of marketing and using the internet, I have a twitter account, but doing it for facebook seems to prove a bit harder. I go to the icon for a business, or band, but it doesn’t work. I didn’t know if I should use my personal one for the boutique, and personal? thoughts/help?
what do you mean that the facebook icon doesn’t work? is this a technical issue – or you don’t feel that it matches your business? i have a facebook page for the Proprietress – it’s basically a feed from the blog for my fans. every now and then i’ll add a post (but most of the time i forget – oops!). check out Black Wagon on facebook and become a fan. it’s a store here in portland who really uses facebook & twitter to market. for example – she just posted a 25% off 2-hour sale! if it shows up in your feed – you can take advantage of the sale (i missed it – darn!). i would def. use a page for your business (it’s called a “Page” which is different than a “profile”. let me know if you need more help with it…good lukc!
