If you live in driving distance to LA - I’d check out the new Super Market Tuesdays at the CMC.  it’s a great opportunity to shop outside of the craziness that is the Fashion Market. Imagine being able to linger in a showroom – or – have time to check out new lines without rushing from one appointment to the next (and usually running late). Many showrooms also offer discounts on Super Market Tuesday – like 10% off at Voom by Joy Han or free shipping on Trumpette baby socks at Clothing the Boom. You’ll also find cocktails, free snacks & parking – and helpful seminars. Check out the calendar for dates and more info.

Amy Torello is cookin’ up some sweet jewels. Very different than anything else out there – you’ll find a beautiful brushed silver mixed with golden doodads or colorful enamel in modern graphic shapes. never trendy – but always stylish. and crazy affordable. trust me – i used to carry this line at ooma and the gals scooped it up like crazy.
Oh how i love Etsy! it’s like shopping with the most creative souls in the world. I’ll be sleuthing out various items that you could potentially sell or use at your store.
For example – check out these custom earring cards from Pixel by Pixel . What a great way to give your displays a cohesive look and help brand either your store or your own jewelry line. And the fun doesn’t stop there – they also do apparel tags, necklace & bracelet cards, business cards – loads of great paper products to help you brand your store/wares. The design is modern, chic and fun.
At ooma, i found tons of display items at PBteen (who knew!?). Depending on the style of your boutique – these may be perfect little displays at check-out, or an a stand alone shelf/table. If I see something particularly darling, I’ll post it here – like this charming jewelry vanity - but check out their site for lots of fun ideas for girly stores.
Add a coat of paint and/or change the fabric for a custom look.
It’s no secret that many of us buy furnishings at IKEA to display our wares. and then you start seeing the same cabinets all over town. well – here is an easy way to add a little personality and branding to your plain IKEA store fixtures!Â
Check out the Grippiks surface accents. There are only a few patterns available right now – but let’s cross our fingers that they expand their selection. What a great idea for your store (or home).
